Cherokee supervisors vote to provide financial support for three organizations

The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors approved financial contributions to three organizations and two agreements for the HVAC system during its meeting July 28.
The board also held two closed sessions under Iowa Code Chapter 21.5(1)(c) “To discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the position of the governmental body in that litigation.”
The supervisors favored $5,000 contributions from the Rural Betterment Fund each to the Cherokee 4-H Youth for program support, the Aurelia Heritage Society for a roof repair project and Grand Meadow Heritage Society for a building improvement project.
